Sweden to go CASHLESS!!
For the second year in a row, Sweden ranked first in the Global Information Technology Report released at the World Economic Forum in January. The Economist Intelligence Unit also put Sweden top of its latest digital economy rankings, in 2010. Both rankings measure how far countries have come in integrating information and communication technologies in their economies. CBS article
Bills and coins now represent only 3 percent of Sweden’s economy, compared to about 9 percent in the rest of Europe and 7 percent in the U.S., according to the Bank for International Settlements. Perhaps the most unexpected result of a cash free Sweden is cashless churches.
